Barcelona Cathedral is a gothic-style church that was built at the former site of a Visigoth church. It is located in the Barri Gotic ( Gothic district). The construction of this building started in 13th century and took more than 200 years. Barcelona cathedral is dedicated to a saint called Santa Eulàlia, who was killed by Roman officials.
The roof features a wide variety of statues, ranging from mundane farm animals to fantastical creatures taken from local legends. The Catalan Gothic structure is used in the construction of this building. The Barcelona Cathedral is composed of 5 aisles. There are two chapels in each section of the aisles. There are also 13 Cloisters where 13 geese are kept, because it is believed that Santa Eulalia was 13 at the time of her death.
