Ever seen a food truck around Barcelona? Wondered why?  No street businesses are allowed in the capital, so BCNMés has been in charge for the pas 3 editions, to try and open the Council’s eyes so that they see Street Food more brightly.  Every edition, Eat Street Barcelona brings this way of life to the people of Barcelona, showing eating fast, and on the street doesn’t mean eating unhealthy food. This edition will take place on the 11th October in Plaça de les Glòries, close to the famous Encants market. So if you fancy a bit of food as well as some beer and a bit of a bloc party in mid-October get down to Eat Street!

EAT-STREET

Eat Street October 2014

This time, Eat Street would like to claim the Street as a public space for citizens to embrace and enjoy. This is why you’ll find quality street food, some of the most innovative on-the-go meals, great chefs and cute stalls; all at affordable prices, as the maximum price per dish is 5 euros!

Following its philosophy, entry is totally free and apart from all the appetizing food you’ll be able to enjoy cold drinks such as Moritz beer, homemade beers, all kinds of wine, vermouth and all sorts of non-alcoholic beverages. Another great part of the event, is it’s totally pet-friendly, so it’s a good opportunity to take the dog for a walk.

Although this is the fourth edition, Eat Street’s aim is to try and do six events per year, although permission for this kind of event is difficult to get.

This year they have also started the Chefs Eat Street community, so independent and talented chefs with food trucks can keep in contact, share ideas, experiences and recipes.  There is still time for Stall owners to subscribe their trucks to Eat Street, they just need to join the Chef community and send the form provided here.

So, are you ready to fill your bellies with Mexican tacos, original burgers or a good old dim sum? If you’re not full you can even find lovely sweets such as crêpes and ice-creams!
